Vintage is not all about blokes nor is it all about money and making it, if you'll just read this comment
Two years ago a mechanic at New Rafiki Garage in Ruiru called him about a 1952 Chevrolet ‘Chevy’ Deluxe that used to belong to a senior chief.
Mr Serem loved it and wasted no time in acquiring it. Though he refuses to say how much he invested in restoring the vehicle, he acknowledges that it is not a cheap venture as he had to strip down the car to rebuild the engine and body.
Mind you apart from passion I hope to make some money, it's big time investment in this area for me, but meanwhile the farm keeps the money coming in, suddenly the English farmer is back in vogue, we don't want stuff from China, not our food, anyway.
But I guess it will take time to build a collection and for it to grow in financial terms, not for everyone it seems but those who do it for the love and spend their money on just the one car, their reward is in being able to drive it and attend meets, a great way of life. And for the ladies too!
