Travelling for Business.
March 30th 2008 09:50
Now we all know that business men travel, it's not by choice, it's by circumstance.
For some money is of no consequence and they go with big travel budgets, first class flights, luxury hotels, hire cars and almost unlimited credit cards.
They are either wealthy in their own right or have bosses who work for large international firms where the distribution of funds for such necessary travel is never an issue and as their employees are generally on call 24 hours a day while on such travel, it can never be otherwise.
There are many employees who work for such organizations who take responsibility for making all the necessary travel arrangements and all the traveller needs to do is pack his or her bag and when it comes to top US government employees its private jets and airforce planes and only the sky seems to be the limit, either on the ground or in the air.
However, there are those who must arrange business travel with the economics in mind and for these people they must keep a sharp eye for special deals and a lot of their travel is on a self arrange basis and a good travel agent can be worth their weight in gold to such travellers who do have a need for the most comfortable flights at the most economical cost.
My travel is funded by the family firm, of course, and no I am not a member of THE family firm, just something of a cheap imitation and I do get things rather easily provided I watch my p's and q's and I used to know the origin of that quaint expression but I have forgotten it.
But these things are interesting to know.
But for now I am just setting down a few of the considerations of travelling for business and we'll deal with other things like the very necessary laptop which every business person now needs and other electronic gadgets on another post, another day.
