fobzy's Sydney travel visit - pictures
April 7th 2008 10:08
My weekend was hectic, but not in the usual way, no ladies this time, fobzy had business to attend to.
Fotunately the weather was fine and I went into town and bought my brand new camera, just point and click and I would have wonderful pictures I was assured.
So I started at the Royal Botanical gardens in Sydney and you all know where they are and I walked round and up and down with photos of this and photos of that and I tried the odd experiment or two and felt very pleased with myself indeed.
Then off I went on the Manly ferry and snapped the Opera House and the Bridge from this angle and that and near and far, my camera has a good zoom but don't ask me anything else about it as I am technologically ignorant, you know how it is.
I'm a horse man myself and not really into gadgets, I just find them convenient to use.
When I arrived at Manly I pranced along the promenade and NO, I am certainly not one of those, I just was full of the joys of
Of course the question would be raised as to why I only had photos of Sydney despite my far reaching journey but I shall just have to
I popped into the Manly Hotel for a rather late lunch and was well satisfied with the wonderful array of seafood on the smorgasbord, after so much activity I was very hungry.
I did spy some nice young ladies who I would have loved to have chatted up but no, Saturday
was a day for photography and I spent the afternoon walking along the beach, snapping the pines and the ocean and the sea and the sand and those brave swimmers and those doing a promenade along the beach just like Brighton, well no, in fact it was not like Brighton, but I felt as if it was.
As the sun set far out on the horizon I even tried my hand at a sunset. I had such a jolly day but at the end of it I almost literally threw myself onto the bed , I was just so tired.
Sunday, you've got it I found myself some horses and tried my hand at some rather neat photography. I made quite the artistic endeavour, I assure you.
Well, that is essentially my weekend in Sydney, Australia and I now have a photographic record to take home with me.
But, today, when I went to the local shop seeking some assistance with printing my pictures I did receive rather a shock.
The assistant mentioned all sorts of terms and I understood none of them.
But with his assistance I now have my little album all ready.
I do have some nice wide shots of the gardens, clear but unimpressive in composition, I must confess but then all I had was half the Opera House, 3/4 of the Harbour Bridge, bits and pieces of Manly and bits and pieces of people, I have heard that things like leaving their heads off could be quite effective in photography, but somehow mine just looked like people with their heads cut off, but I did have some nice long distance shots and even my sunset turned out well, oh I don't mean well, I mean, ah well they didn't turn out so well, but I will get by thanks more to the wonderful techniques of the camera rather than my own photographic skills, but most of the horse shots were a disaster, the assistant said I must have moved, but it wasn't me who was moving, it was the horses, but I have some blurry looking ones and I have seen professional photographers producing that effect but somehow mine just did not look all that good.
So much for my journey in Sydney, but that will do, I don't think many of the girls whom I shall be introduced to will know much about photography, so I shall get away with it, in my usual fobzy way. You know how it is.
Wonder what the big G will come up with for this one. Eh?

No man really wants to be seen as a lady, and that is what happened as a result, but Jon says as soon as I get myself a permanent address he'll set me up with my new site, but for the time being everyone is stuck with the problem.
I'll give katyzzz due credit though, she's never complained, not once, says she's always getting mixed up with other people, but I do just wish I had my own little tag.
Thanks for your visit and comments, I'm off to England on the weekend, but I'll be back in Sydney after two weeks R&R with mummsey, as I affectionately call my mother who foots all the bills.
