Looking considerably less chunky than the Paris Auto Show concept from two years ago, Mini has finally added a fourth model to the family. As a genuine Crossover, the Mini Countryman bridges the gap between the Mini Clubman and a modern Sports Activity Vehicle.
With optional all-wheel drive, the Countryman will offer a unique driving experience that target groups requiring more space and flexibility than a Clubman.
As the first model in the Mini range with four doors and a wide-opening tailgate, the Countryman provides greater space for versatile use, a slightly elevated seating position, and optimized comfort.
The Mini Countryman continues the premium design themes of the brand in style and quality, combining larger body dimensions, greater ground clearance and four doors. Short overhangs, a high window line, a powerful stance and window graphics extending around the entire car create those unique proportions typical of Mini
At the same time, the Countryman re-interprets the characteristic Mini icons, such as the roofline, hexagon grille, large headlights integrated in the hood, surrounds on the indicators, voluminous wheel arches and the upright rear light clusters in a new style.
The extra space within the car is emphasized by extra-large windows, the introduction of four doors and the shape of the roof. The particularly wide frame around the lower part of the body and the powerfully flared wheel arches highlight the robust character of the car with its all-wheel drive.
Inside, the Countryman boasts innovative design and functional elements. The slightly elevated seating position guarantees comfortable access to the car, as well as the driver’s view.
The Central Display and air vents are surrounded by colored rings. The Mini Center Rail extends from front to rear instead of a conventional centre console. This opens new options for integrating all kinds of storage boxes, cupholders, external audio devices, mobile telephones and other comfort features. Flexibly positioned clip-in elements enable the driver and passengers to subdivide the storage boxes individually as required, keeping travel utensils within easy reach, wherever they are required. At the same time the Center Rail forms an unconventional connection between the front seats and the rear passenger compartment
