How often do you Google?
April 23rd 2008 23:57
I google a lot, generally behind closed doors, after all I would not want anyone else to know, so keep it quiet, will you?
I google to look for things and to pinch pictures and to find out things and for all of those I google, google, google, many times a day whenever I get a chance to, unobserved.
My requirements are not great so generally I do get what I want fairly easily.
What I sometimes find hard is getting a good picture, despite several different efforts and keying into Google in a number of different ways.
Sometimes the best I can do with Google is get a useable image rather than one that I really want.
This is very inhibiting especially when I google to get just the thing I want and end up with "that'll have to do". That is a great shame, when a good picture can make or break what you are trying to do.
I don't need much information from Google to write this post but where it did come in very useful was in preparation for my learning to drive the tractor, that really gave me a good kick start for my lesson and that time I also found a reasonable picture if not precisely what I wanted.
I've noticed the very wide range of interests demonstrated on Orble and I do wonder if many of you use Google as your source or if you use other means.
I'm all for speed rather than substance and generally what I find does me quite well, I'm always anxious to get my posts done in the minimum of time, time not allowing for much more and the rate of pay, of which I have yet to receive any benefit at all, and by now even 1c is looking attractive, but I can guess that you all know where I am coming from.
So how do you find your Googling, how much do you Google and does Google give you what you want or do you go elsewhere.
It would be really nice to have some replies, even if I am just a Pommie b..........
Your comments would be most welcome and response is assured.
And good luck Australia with your Anzac Day commemorations. The Aborigines did just great, well done.

Although I have been using Google's alternative Givel.com - it's Google's "Charity" version, so I feel like I am doing something good
James - Google is now a verb just as much as "MSN me" or "SMS me"

James, this is a blog, who worries about grammar? Glad you like the post.
Amy, very informative and a nice little suggestion there.
Gaye, love your novel approach, ever thought about getting a bigger chair?
PMC, I had to be very careful with the acronym there, thanks for all the info, very interesting.
Ann 2, love it that someone else has the same problems that I do.
Irene, great comment, you must be very experienced.
Meggie, what a charming name, good to see someone doing something a bit different, I’ve always thought Yahoo was the province of the young.
Thank you so much everyone for making this a great post and making fobzy’s heart sing.
Well done, everyone

Just as a little PS, the power usage saving of blackle was debunked last year but it's good to know people are trying to come up with ideas to help the environment.

Last night I got an email from a woman I went to school with and havent seen for over 20 years. She googled me and I came up, that's scary......So I googled myself and now I am trying to remove myself from some of the places that I am googleable....
Cheers

I like it that they host an ever-expanding array of free stuff we can use, but I'm not ready to surrender all my docs, spreadsheets, mail - everything - to their state-sized server bank (some of which are apparently built of LEGO).
They are just a search engine to me. Oh, and Google Earth. Love it.
They became my default search engine by accident - I was a dogpile.com user for years but then in some upgrade I got Googlized and poor little dogpile hasn't seen me for a while.
Hmmmmm. Think I'll go back to the dogs.

I'm back in Sydney, just two more weeks of freedom it seems.
As regards that doggy do which I have never heard of , do they have one based on horse manure? Preparation for the old stables you know.
Pip, pip 2 u 2, getting very bloggy there. Right into it u know.
