Now just what is happening with Google, the great intrigue.

fobzy here aka Sebastian, or more formally, Mr. Fobbs.
You know it is very interesting what is happening both with Google and with some of the advertisers, now I have it on good authority that many Orblers have experienced a downturn in adsense income by as much as 30% for the month of March, now if this were not a blog this would be a disaster for many industries.
Perhaps fellow Orblers would like to post a comment on whether they agree or disagree, whether they have noticed this themselves or heard it on the grapevine, some may have been more or less affected by all of this but it really would be good for all of us to know, don't you think?
Although I have noticed that Orblers are not big on co-operation this way. Personally, I am not affected because on zero earnings it is hard to notice any difference at all for the month of March and what I started as a serious venture is fast turning into a Disney charade, but, there you have it, that's my self disclosure plus what I've heard and not many of you are very good at sharing I've noticed.
Bit short of the principles of man for mankind, rather I witness here, man for self.
But just to digress from Google for a minute or two, Wendy Davis, from online media, reports that
71%, said they realize that companies track their Web browsing activity for purposes of sending them targeted ads. The majority--57%--said they are not comfortable with the practice, even when their browsing history can't be linked to their names.
At the same time, 72% of Web users also told researchers they find irrelevant ads "intrusive and annoying," although one key strategy for displaying relevant ads relies on behavioral targeting, or monitoring where people go online and then determining their interests. "The study has unearthed some basic contradictions," said Dave Morgan, founder of behavioral targeting company Tacoda and a former ad executive at AOL. "The vast majority of consumers do not like irrelevant ads."

AOL is one of the biggest advertisers on the web, so it seems.
Yahoo is also big, but it hasn't done much for me.
But, then again, nor has Google, I guess it boils down to those links again.
Apparently lifestyle, men and women's health and bicycling attract a lot of ads but I'm not sure if they are the biggest advertisers but various sites are doing well because of their content.
Sony is big and the Knight Foundation and the site that really attracts the advertising big dollars is the Super Bowl.
Reports indicate that it is the older generation that has the spending and buying power, but advertisers are slow to pick up with this trend.
And conventional advertisers are not yet being seduced by the web, but who knows what the future brings, only time will tell.
But I do know, that according to my various sources many bloggers experienced downturns in March for their mostly pitiable incomes.
Let's hope the great Google gets its act together and does if for us, well you perhaps, I don't think they've noticed me yet.
Do respond to fobzy , that's ME, not that other one, PLEASE!
