Earth day, Earth day, Earth day - even Google gets into it.
April 22nd 2008 01:29
We farmers need to look after our soil and keep planting our trees, that's very good for the environment.
And have you noticed the little earth dressing Google has given its logo to-day. It looks very cooling and very refreshing and to let you know ,via Orble, what's happening around the world I've put the little link up the top for a collection of photos for earth day.
From Manilla comes the following:
Let us help each other to achieve a healthy environment that future generations can enjoy. Let us be vigilant and make every day a celebration of Earth Day.
Isn't it wonderful to think what less wealthy countries are doing and taking their responsibilities seriously.
In England they are having a drink 'til you're green for Earth Day, there areEarth Day sales in all the stores, Earth Day decorations everywhere and of course all the eco-carols on the radio, we just can't help getting excited about the arrival of April 22.
And may I assume you are having an Earth Day dinner at your house.
We're having a big celebration on the farm, planting a few trees, clearing up some rubbish, urging smokers to give it up and we're all into the wearin' o' the green and brown, with a special attendance from Mother Earth, no not me you fools, that's my Mother's theatre debut.
And of course fobzy will be keeping his eyes open for the future Mrs. Fobbs, with parental approval, of course.
Farmers everywhere are being encouraged to care for their land more and in a more eco friendly way, not give way to earning the big $ and we certainly support that at our house.
There's talk of going back to the very strict rotation of crops and letting fields lie fallow from time to time to recover from their production activities.
English Nature, the government's wildlife advisor, has joined forces with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) to advise the public inquiry into the proposed wind farm development at Romney Marsh.
And there is a big drive to encourage use of natural fibres like wool instead of synthetics.
So many people are aware and contributing in their own way, but you know me, fobzy, I just try as I'm not long on brain power, as you know.
I just say,
Go Global for cooling, that's green. ( an original fobzy message.)
