Consumer's choose by appeal
July 28th 2011 08:13
BMW's X3 was No. 1 in the Entry Premium Crossover/SUV category in the JD Power & Associates study. BMW won two other categories and finished third overall in appeal among 32 nameplates. (Don Kelsen, Los Angeles Times / July 28, 2011)
That's a BMW there and consumers like it a lot.
They also like a Dodge, so appeal is high on their list, irrespective of a falling off in reliability.
But, rather surprisingly for many was the consumer's choice of Porsche
"Porsche across the board, with all of its vehicles, does really well, and a lot of that is due to exterior styling,"
That's quite some record and manufacturers have picked up on the consumer's favorites and are fast redesigning their cars based more on appeal than a lot of other considerations
