Keeping an eye on Classic Cars - British for me, of course!

September 3rd 2009 07:11
classic cars British

Sorry , I had to make a small substitiution here, but you'll get the idea.

Classic car enthusiasts celebrated when the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu stepped in and offered to host one of the UK’s most popular Classic Car and Bike Shows in its magnificent grounds on Sunday August 2nd 2009.

Originally called the Wroughton Classic, the show has become one of the fastest-growing events in the classic calendar. It had been in danger of cancellation after both the Wroughton venue and then a late change to nearby Liddington became unavailable to the organisers.

There's a great picture here I want to show you but the beastly fiends are not allowing me to pinch it, what is the great UK coming to, share and share alike and what goes around comes around, although I've yet to witness much of that.

I know I've overdone the parenting thing a bit but now the old fobzy is back to the serious business of cars in order to make a cent or two, but one cent at this stage seems a tall order.

It is such a thrill being a dad, expecially when as I keep telling you I'm literally a bastard myself. Not nice. That's men for you, but not the old fobzy.

Let's have another shot at that picture, but if I can't get it I'll have to fill in with some other shot.

You know what they say about used car salesmen, don't you?

Beaulieu Events Manager Judith Maddox said: “We are delighted to be able to offer a new venue for the Adrian Flux Classic, to enable the show to take place this year and look forward to a great day with lots of classic cars and bikes. With Beaulieu’s proven track record for holding major motoring events it is the ideal venue.

“Both the exhibitors and visitors will be able to enjoy not only the Adrian Flux Classic but also all the features within the Beaulieu attraction, including the National Motor Museum and the newly opened World of Top Gear.”

I have to admit that thing looks like a nice brute but, forgive a man who knows next to nothing about classic cars, why is it wearing a belt?

Hey, punk, farming is becoming very sophisticated you know, I could do with some help from someone a bit smarter than me, so when you're ready just say the word.

I always knew you were smart, about that belt I can only conclude it is to keep the bonnet down in an era when car manufacture was not so sophisticated, if I find out more, I'll let you know.

Actually, I don't mind getting my hands dirty with farm jobs old mate. If you could give me an idea on what kind of tools or machines I'd be asked to operate, maybe I'll know if I can handle them. Oh, you don't want your cattles to be like my bank accounts, they are still scrawny at best .

Punk, the farm is doing amazingly well, all organic as they like to say, we treat all our birds ( chooks) and animals ( pigs) well and there is a mindswell of people who appreicate and will pay that little bit extra.

There are so many different types of jobs that need doing, and if I can learn them I'm quite confident you can.

Mother's ideas of coping with extra duties is to fob ( no apology for the pun) them off on me but I need to re-assert myself as the Squire, so we have great need for farm lads, despite the pushy little new boy who is determined to get ahead, he has Mother's ear already and eye too, which is a coup in its own right, farming is a nice way of life with a farm cottage thrown in, a good place to rear a family, should you be so inclined. And there are always good country girls looking for a hardworking farm boys to wed.

But if your determined on a financial career I can understand why you stick it out where you are, patience my good fellow.
