Cameras, cameras, cameras - which camera?
April 4th 2008 10:34
I really have been very remiss at acquiring a small portfolio of photographs of my travels.
I've been so busy enjoying myself I just haven't worried about photography at all. But with return to England imminent I feel I really should have some good photos of this wonderful country and Sydney in particular as that is where I am at this moment.
But first of all I need to get a camera and I shall go out first thing in the morning and buy one. I really do not have too much time to make my decision but it seems to be a choice between Nikon, Canon and Olympus and I do have a leaning towards Canon, I need to come up to speed very quickly, you see, shoot and point and off we go.
With wonderful Sydney Harbour, the Bridge and the Opera House and right next to the Botanical Gardens I should have a nice little collection to take back with me.
I don't think I'll have much time to do a price check so I'll go into a good camera shop first thing tomorrow morning and buy something which will guarantee good pictures in most circumstances and which needs a minimum of instruction.
You know sometimes it is a distinct advantage not being too bright one can always throw yourself onto some kindly little shop assistant who can feel very important explaining the very basics of camera use to a self-proclaimed idiot like myself.
Just a little trick you may like to keep up your sleeve for yourself sometimes, it doesn't pay to be too proud.
I might even get to go to the races again and photograph some fine animals, I would just love to have a photographic collection of horses which I'd keep well hidden from Mother, of course. thankfully she has gone past going through my belongings to check what I have been up to. At last she realizes I am a man.
So do wish me well with my camera purchase tomorrow and fine weather to best show off my skills.
It looks like they'll be no little ladies this weekend, shame isn't it?
